Brighter than the Sun

by Painted on Smile   May 31, 2008

Through the tears
that blurred my eyes
that bright white smile shines
letters spell out words
making my heart lighter
than it has been
in quite some time
with each word
a smile spreads
wider and wider
across rosy lips
a smile that glows
in contrast to
my dark, tanned skin
it feels so funny
for it is not forced
as the most recent
smiles have been
to smile a smile so real
frees these olive green eyes
from the suffocating hold
of the tears that engulfed them
mere moments before
a smile that makes
these eyes sparkle like diamonds
as a laugh escapes
the smile of those rosy lips
a smile that glows
as those glittering green eyes
read the words upon the screen
words written by a boy
with a smile that shines
brighter than the sun
