For now.

by Spoken Silence   Jun 1, 2008

As the sound of the troops march blares through the streets,
It carries souls away, those who have died and those who cried.
Soldiers who fought on the front lines,
And to those who fought in silence.

I am a pacifist and that is a fact.
But I would still support those who fought for my country.
I wish that those who fought hadn't died.
Those who cried didn't cry.
Those who shot could see.
Because war is never the answer,
Its just a cover.

Its an answer for right now, this moment, this second.
But why can't you think ahead?
For those of the future whose lives will be affected?
Bombs that never went off in World War II
Can still go off, if touched.
Gasses from Vietnam still affect their children.
Why can't you see?
That war is just for now,
But the results are forever.
