Pills

by Emily   Jun 10, 2008

The phone rings long and shrill
I finally get the courage to answer
My shaky hands stumble across the smooth surface
Before I stutter out my words
The phone slips out of my grasp
I scream
I scream because it is the only thing I can do
I scream out your name long and shrill
The hospital receptionist still reading off the information
I slowly pick up the phone
And ask how you died
She clears her throat and says
He took a estimated amount of pills
Oh god
How could you leave me alone?
When you were the one holding onto me?
