Spread Skin Canvas

by Dutch   Jun 16, 2008

Watch me peel back the skin
For now, its only my shell
Would there be something there to see?
I doubt it
Sinew and bone, what is it?
Nothing, thats for sure
Watch me peel the skin away
Followed by my eyes
Hollow lately, empty
They tell a story I dont want published
Watch me peel this skin from me
Its not something nice to view
If I cared I would stop
But I really dont care
Youre used to seeing what you dont like
Wheres the difference?
Watch me peel this skin from bone
Again, just sit and stare
Skin is gone, the blood still there to see
Its not about to go anywhere soon
Like it even matters
Watch me peel the skin away
Peer into my soul
Cry because it sings to you
And leaves behind my picture
On the lonely canvas
Painted there so daintily
By the skin I peel away
And on that lonely canvas
Ill watch the painting spread
Watch me peel my skin from me
And place it to canvas instead
