Without me

by JD   Jun 17, 2008

Tonight; Rain falls
It Echo's heartbroken.
Midnight calls
But its outspoken.

I lay wounded
The suns rays dance;
Streetlights flash on
last chance for romance.

The wind is crying;
sing sweet lullaby
Hush, dawn is coming;
whispers star's sweet sigh.

Lighting shimmers;
The twinkle of a million ends.
just one more unseeing;
In a world of pretend.

Tomorrow; Light will soar.
The earth will be free.
Bounded by the desolate moon;
Without me.

    This was truly a excellent work. "Hush, dawn is coming; whispers star's sweet sigh." The writing is clear and fluid, not clumpy like most of the poetry I come in contact with. Great job.

    I thought this was a well written poem
    I could relate to each line and verse,
    but the ending makes it a little hard for me to comment.
    Life is just too precious to give up on
    A sad poem but well worth a 5/5
