Fears

by Shellaine shelli   Jun 18, 2008

Dark hair and big blue eyes
are my weaknesses that
show nothing but lies.

Soft pale skin
and a big smile,
who would think I was
abused as a child...

You treat me like a doll,
and act as if I have no soul
You treat me like
I am fine and don't look
past all the lies.

I tell you that I'm
"okay" and have put my mask on...
I'm now ready to face the day.
I'll tell you that I'm
alright and that I'm coping
because even if I didnt
you wouldn't notice.

I sometimes wish that
I was as invisible as you make me feel.
I wish you could understand that my
feelings are real.

Behind my smile
lies a thousand tears...
behind my blue eyes
lies all of my fears...

    Beautifully written.
    Word choice was excellent.
The emotion is clear and I like how the doll was used to compare to the narrator. It made the poem especially interesting.
    Well done =]
