Once a Slave

by JULIE DEWINDT   Jun 21, 2008

I once was a slave but who truly knew?
The one you made a fool out of, but the fool was really you.
Your promissed trust and honesty,
a service not lasting.

what is a lady to do, as she places all trust in you?
In all those months who'd guess
what foolishness you'd do.

You walked away,
closed the door on me and you;
grave mistake, making me trusting towards you.
Run away, hide, I still remember yesterday,
what you in childishness do.
