Daddy

by sweet escape   Jun 24, 2008

I always was a daddy's girl
Even form the moment I entered the world.
He won my heart while mother was away
In the army for many a day.
He would stay up with me while I was sick.
Not sleep for days and not give a lick.

Daddy went to work when mommy came home.
He went truck driving, the country he would roam.
Every night he would call.
And each night I made his heart fall.
With what little words I could say
From sunny to dark would turn his day.
"Home Daddy?" I'd ask him
And with that the call was fin.

Wow. Excellent for sure. The emotion is excellent. I really like the rhyming except for the last line. I really don't like how you ended it. The emotion just wasn't as good, nor was the flow. Still 5/5

This poem is so cute! You admire your dad from adar, there aren't many who do so.
The tale is touching, and a subject that some can relate to. The choosing of words is simple and true.
    Nice poem 5/5

I liked this a lot. It's a beautiful piece from a daughter, to a father, and it shows how much you care about him. I liked that this came from the heart. Good job. 5/5
