The run away child (storiest poem)

by Michael Verterel   Jun 25, 2008

He hears their words
They hate him, he knows it

he hears their words
They want him dead, he feels it

he senses danger approaching
Oh where can he hide

HE SPEAKS IN THOUGHT:

'I got to hide before they catch me,

I don't want to be kicked down,
At least not today.

My mom is out of town,
Now.... i can run away.

I'm leaving far,
To a better place.

Maybe when i find it,
Just maybe... i'll be free.

I won't be kicked around
nor tossed to the curb
maybe for once i won't taste my blood poring down
i won't have to taste the pain of being who i am
I'll find a new home, a place i won't feel alone

But wait... i can't leave mom..
Dads in prison, and sis is dead...
I gotta pull myself together...
Sure it will hurt to fall and fade to shame...
But this is my life,
who... who are they to tell me i am wrong...

I'm my own man, no matter my age..
They may be older, but i'm better at rage...

AND HE STOPS, RUSHING TOWARDS THE CROWD WHICH WISHED TO HURT HIM, ONLY THIS TIME IT WAS HIM ABOVE THEM.

(THIS WAS A LAST MINUTE POEM I WROTE THAT WAS ON MY MIND AS I WAS ON HERE, LOL...)
