Heart Of A Hurricane((Song))

by AmberSherrellxxIve Been Sitting Here Trying To Find Myselfxx   Jun 30, 2008

{Verse 1}
I was sitting on the front porch watching as it rained
Each drop taking me to another time and place
Back to summer nights when I was wrapped in your embrace
Hypnotized by the candle light as it danced across your face
Back to spring days soaking wet out by the lake
When everything was perfect, no such thing as mistakes

{Chorus 1}
But now I sit here in silence as heaven seems to cry
Fighting back the tears as they brim up in my eyes
It's funny how you miss the things you didn't know would matter
Laughing at the stupid fights and crying at the laughter
Now you're gone and there's no one left to blame
You destroyed me without warning like the heart of a hurricane

{Verse 2}
The wind was cold and sent shivers down my skin
I was lost in a storm that would eventually end
Just let the pain run its course and I'll be okay
It's nothing but another cloud on a rainy day
But as a drop ran down my neck I couldn't help but smile
Remembering a different night that was back a short while

{Chorus 2}
He leaned me against the truck as the rain began to fall
I wrapped my arm around him, taking in it all
Everything disappeared and he was all that mattered
He wiped away my tears and replaced my pain with laughter
He loved me whole heartedly without any shame
His eyes lit up with lightning like the heart of a hurricane
