Our Last Goodbye

by lost in the words   Jul 7, 2008

The silence is what hurts the most.
The unsaid still lingering in his head.
The lump in my throat still growing.
As I await this last and final dread.

He opens his mouth to speak.
But the words still remain inside.
Please someone take me now.
Find me a new place to hide.

The anguish and the agony.
Hit me deep within my soul.
And as he speaks those words to me.
My raging anger is so hard to control.

I can't force my eyes to see the end.
Not willing to make this our last goodbye.
Leaving me with another broken heart.
And a river of tears to cry.
