Trust Of A Mustang

by Crippled Wing   Jul 10, 2008

Trust from a mustang
is hard to gain
it's spirit you can't brake or train
it take's patience and time
like a mountain you have to climb
you have to be true at heart
to achieve a balance as pure as an art

In many ways
I'm just like a mustang
my spirit takes time to trust
and when I get hurt
I feel like I'm standing in a cloud of dust
like a mustang deep down
I long for freedom and love
I want to fly away like a dove

At first I may act
reclusive and untame
but it's only because
I'm trying to hide my true pain
locked up in my own fears
crying these dry tears
I want someone to calm me down,
tell me I don't have to be afraid
and will find me when I have strayed

But will my untrusting heart
ever be saved?
Through all the darkness
alone I have braved....
so all I can say is like a mustang
I will never forget
all the pain and regret
