The voices of Dar fur

by Michael Verterel   Jul 13, 2008

We have no place to go
Don't you see we have no home
Our eyes have dried up
Don't you see the tears we've cried

Our mom and dads are dying
As our grandparents are ill
Still you choose to ignore
As our bodies drop to the floor

We never asked for this pain
But we can't wash it away
We're drowning in the rain
As you turn and walk away

By the time you hear our voice
It will be too late
We know you had a choice
But you should've followed fate

Thousands of us are dying
Living without parents
But still you move along
Pretending we've had enough

You knew we were at war
But you still chose to ignore
Now we lie motionless
Because of ignorance

If you could see our pain
The way our hearts ache
You wouldn't regret your lives
If you could see our pain
The way our hearts ache
You wouldn't pass us by

We never asked for this pain
But we can't wash it away
We're drowning in the rain
As you turn and walk away
