You Knew

by Kitoura   Jul 14, 2008

It's not as if you didn't know,
Or did you not have the heart to tell me?
You knew I would react this way,
Don't be surprised.
Try you do to forget,
I'm sure,
But what about me?

I suppose it's time I let it go,
Let myself out,
Let me die.
Don't act like this.
You knew.

I suppose you can pretend it wasn't real,
But you knew,
You knew you stood as my only hope.
And now, I suppose,
I will come home,
Get on the phone to a best friend
Who is too much like you to bear.
No longer can I run away,
Nor can I hide from you.

I suppose it's time I let it go,
Let myself out,
Let me die.
Don't act like this.
You knew.

It was worth the torment,
Worth the broken heart.
Everywhere I turn, you,
A ghost of you will linger,
Beckoning, beckoning,
Should I follow, or must I remain behind?
Will the angels be angry if I died?

I suppose it's time I let it go,
Let myself out,
Let me die.
Don't act like this.
You knew.

Can't bear to let it go,
There is something broken,
And you stay behind and let me die.
Save me, else let me be at peace.
Youthful, as I may be,
The night of reckoning is here.
You knew, you knew what was to become of this.
Goodnight, to you, my love.
Salem, goodnight.
