Perfect Imperfections

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Jul 15, 2008

You have perfect imperfections.
There's no need to make corrections.
You're fine the way you are,
though there's more than one scar.

I'll be here to mend your life
and to take away the knife.
Each time you confront the rope
I'll be there to give you hope.

If the idea of pills gets you spellbound
I'll be the one pulling you to the ground.
If you plan on whiffing dust-off to get more than high
I'll be right there to take it away so you don't die.

If the gun tempts you I'll be there
to snap you out of the death stare.
Mixing chemicals to take more than sips?
I'll make sure they don't even touch your lips.

I'll kiss you softly and hold you near
and whisper I love you in your ear.
I'll save you if it's the last thing I do,
because you know I really do love you.

All your poems thus far have been very powerful- something I always look for besides originality.
