Love Story

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Jul 19, 2008

You're in love with a woman, but she's with another man.
Yet you still try your hardest to do whatever you can.
Engulfed by jealousy and rage
as your heart beats in its cage.

She loves you back and longs for your touch.
Asking her to leave him is too much.
Two friends in love, but there's nothing they can do
except remind each other with "I love you".

She thinks of him often and encourages their love
as she patiently awaits an answer from above.
The only answer she's getting is "follow your heart",
but what is there to do when it's being torn apart?

The boy keeps depression in his eyes.
The girl keeps secrets instead of lies.
Their secret love is still kept this very day.
The other doesn't know her heart began to fray.

Enjoyed the story. but you need to edit it a bit.
First stanza lines 1&2 are very verbose aand could be shortened to improve metre
Line three change "range" to "rage"?
Second and third stanzas could use some metre work.
Last two lines in stanza four seem off a bit but can't put my mind on it.
    As always an opinion.
