The Simple Girl

The Simple Girl

Gone are the days when you were my type
You are no more that simple girl I dearly like
Perfumes and powders guard you, not my love
You've lost the smell that linked you to the paradise above

Your simplicity was indeed a wonder; a grace
The free cascading hair glorified your angel face
The divine smile wiped away every heart's melancholy
This simple yet gorgeous girl was a charming mystery

Now your appearance strikes my eyes, not my heart
You've become those cheap ladies who no men want
Your style is a fiasco, you're twinkling eyes speak no language
Its now a haven for Mascara, an eclipse to cause bigger damage

You attired so suitably to protect from evil eyes
Those eyes now cast on you and you readily oblige
Your skinny clothes look so meager yet many say terrific
Its only me whose love for you is entirely platonic

Your charm no longer beguiles me, I honestly say
Your entire change has drifted our bond many miles away
Come back to the nature and be that simple girl whom I laid my life
Your old splendid presence carries the sunshine for me to survive

I agree with Aryaan. It seemed kind of forced to me as well. But it is very good as a whole. Great message.

    Happy writing!

If you look for the rhyme with words like melancholy/mystery or heart/want then it's just not there. you have tried to force a rhyme as it seemed to me.
the poem as a whole is good... it goes well as far as the message is concerned. keep writing!
