OK

by Jerremy Newsome   Jul 22, 2008

She said OK and that was it.
We had been through so much, it was either miss or hit.
The times we had; the love we grew
All ended, without an I love you

Love is a pebble being thrown into a mountain stream
Better yet, a raging river, a young man with no dream
She was his life, soon to be wife.
Of course nothing is perfect, filled with turmoil and strife

But forever with her seemed like a dream come true
Then the door shut, it all ended without an I love you
She will defend herself, something she should do
But he feels he is right, just like the sky feels it is blue

What could she say to change his mind
After her book of faith was boundless with no spine
Contract and arrangements had been broken
The last promise-done-his eyes finally open

Love is a 2 inch wood door being slammed shut
Behind it your life, feeling like her veins had been cut
No more, no more he mumbled on the outside
This time his heart had gone on its last ride

He knew nothing could explain her actions enough
He also knew love like hers; would be tough
TO FIND again a love so pure, true, so deep
He must get up, up on his feet

Love is a two letter word bound my no empirical evidence, situations, facts, beliefs, myths, truths, or stories. What is and now gone today.
All with the words, SIMPLY "OK"
