The Little Kitten

The little kitten abandoned and neglected
Lost and confused and feeling rejected
Little kitten left all alone
How did you get so far from home
Someone left you out in the rain
Will your heart ever trust again
Poor little kitten shaky with fear
You run and hide whenever I come near
You're afraid, just too scared
Maybe you feel nobody cares
If you come out then you will see
That you'll be safe, you can trust me
Little kitten can you hear my voice
Telling you there is another choice
If you do hear what I say
I promise things won't be the same way
You'll have a home for as long as you need
But if you wish to go then you're still free
If you believe, please come inside
I'll do my best to try to provide
I'll leave it for you to choose
You decide, there's nothing to loose
You're welcome to stay until the end
See little kitten I too need a friend

    That was so heart touching ,brought back memories of an event that happened to me years ago....except it was a dog I had found and rescued.

    That .... I am at loss of words...
    That touched me so much... It really did.. Knowing you wrote it for me not only makes me feel special and cared about. It really makes me feel so emotional... I can't even come up with a way to say thank you or come up with a thank you good enough to tell you how much this means. It is just really ... Wow it explains exactly how I feel...

    The first two lines hit me the most though because to know how much those two lines are true just hits me more. I am extremely thankful for this poem. And I am so glad you wrote it, it is so meaningful and special to me. I cherish our friendship. But maybe I am scared and afraid... But I don't know what else to feel.

    But maybe just maybe I will figure that out. Thank you so much for this wonderful poem.
