This Fool

Looks like I'm stuck in the past
Holding onto a love not meant to last
Seems as though I don't want to believe
It was so easy for you to get up and leave
When you left without saying good-bye
It felt like everything inside of me died
But it's so easy to think of the old days
And still hold on to the old ways
So I try to re-live again
All the happiness we had back then
I guess I just don't want to admit
That our lives together you so simply quit
I don't want to let go, but what else can I do
But watch you leave and whisper I love you
I know I really should move on
Wake up and realize that you're gone
Now time has come for me to see
That you love him, no longer me
I'll wish you luck in whatever you choose
But just remember, this fool still loves you

    Love this poem,, hate how we fall in love though and we would show the person the world and actually be their world, but they don't want to be a part of it :( nice work though!

    I'm really sorry that you've been hurt like this. this was a very emotional poem and you can tell that it came from the heart. anyone who is willing to hurt you doesn't deserve your love. but i guess our heart and mind aren't always on the same page are they? it takes time to get over things like this (obviously i can't say that i have the experience) but i've watched my father struggle through a similar situation and although he was heartbroken and felt betrayed, over time it hurt less and less and now he's happy and content on his own.

    sorry if i don't make any sense. it's this insomnia! and really late at night. or should i say early? haha.

    but really, you're truly a very talented writer.

    I forgot how wonderful your poems are from not reading them in so long. I loved it, it was filled with so much emotion. It was just very well written.
