Tearful child

by Lil Ash   Jul 26, 2008

She walks along the side walk with no heart to mend
holding hands with her imaginary best friend
She yells at her friend and tells him don't be scared
not that her horrible neighbors would of cared

she dreads returning to her horrible house
Were she gets treated like a disgusting mouse
Her mother starts to yell and drag her around
Then in school she doesn't make a single sound

Her heart has been torn into a place she cant see
Shes not like other children unlike you and me
Her 5th birthday is coming up
Her presents are just bruises and cuts

She looks out the window as a tear falls from her eye
Daddy were are you what you said is it a lie ?
You said you will come one day and see me again
Ive even learned how to count to ten

She holds out her hand waiting for a sign
Her teddy is yanked out of her hand she says its mine
Her mother replies your to old for that bear
As she stares at her daughter then pulls her hair

Mummy no please i love you mummy please stop
I don't want to be like daddy and go pop
She Crys in her room wishing for hope
how much longer can she cope

The next day blood is found on the floor
And little hand print seen on the door
As she would say was her mum a baddy
at least she will be reunited with her daddy

A well written poem though it is such a sad story. The truth of its much too common occurance makes it even sadder...5/5...JIM
