The Kiss

by Dani Ward   Jun 3, 2004

The first time my lips met yours,
I was no longer bound by reality’s doors.
My heart started racing and pounding in my chest,
it gave my life a jazzy new zest.
My whole life changed at that moment in time,
nothing else will be as sublime.
You gave my life a meaning,
against you I began leaning.
Now your heartbeat keeps me alive,
if it stopped beating my death would arrive.
During that kiss, nothing else mattered,
all of my thoughts became scattered.
In that moment the universe stopped,
everything it was doing was dropped.
The only thing that mattered was you and me,
and the embrace of our lips that made me so free.
This first kiss of mine,
wrapped around me like a vine.
But even though it lasted forever,
it ended too soon instead of never.
Do you remember that special night,
in my memory it burns so bright.
Very special is your kiss,
it is something I sorely miss.

Wow, that was really cool, there.
