Dark House

by Dani Ward   Oct 31, 2009

I've walked this place so many times before
dark and despair and nothing more
each room a shrine to a darkened day
nothing more of myself to give away
I walk down these halls and I see
the deaths of every damn memory
and what was once a house of light
is forever plunged into the deepest night
I linger awhile in every room
seems I have to leave all too soon
walk out the door and I don't look back
know if I do then I just might crack
I find a new place and get to work
all around haunting thoughts do lurk
I build a new home thats just for me
a place of healing to set me free
the journey is rough but I'll survive
come out stronger and more alive
