Leave Your Sky

Last Night I Sat On The Grass
Watched Each Firefly That Passed.
Tried My Best Not To Cry
As Tears Formed Along My Eyes.
Sighed To Myself, Tears Fell Down
Planted Themselves Into The Ground.
Wiped My Eyes, Looked Around
Not A Single Soul Was Found.
Knees To My Chest, Stared At The Water
Thought, "Why Do I Even Bother?"
Heard A Voice, Soft And Light
The Moon Smiled At Me That Night
It Stared At Me, "Child Why
Tell Yourself A Constant Lie?
I See You Here All The Time
I Think You Need To Draw The Line."
"I Need Him Here, Really I'm Fine
I Like To Come Here All The Time.
The Water's Clear, The Grass Is Damp
Plus, He's All That I Have."
"You Can Do Better, You Know You Can
You Don't Need A Boy, Get A Man."
"You Don't Understand, Don't Realize.
It's Quite Hard To Verbalize.
The Guy I'm With Makes Me Proud
Honor Basic, But Love So Loud."
"But Can't You See He Makes You Cry?
Why Keep That A**h**e By Your Side?"
I Sighed To Myself, Stood Up And Then
Looked Up At The Stars Again.
Started To Walk, My Final Words,
The Moon Was Silent After It Heard,
"Let's Just Say, If It Lied Or Made You Cry,
Would You Ever Leave Your Sky?"
