William

Woken by my boy this morning
At the age of seven
He was singing happy birthday
Thought I was in heaven

Still half asleep
He climbed down from his bed
But he sang all the song
Hand clasped to his Ted (Rabbie)

But it was the hip hip hooray that got me
Melted my heart I nearly cried
So innocent so trusting
Touched my soul, thought I'd die

Die of love for my little boy
Leave my room he said
As he reached for his present
Hidden under his bed

The excitement he could not hide
Unwrapping his present
His bright trusting eyes
His smile heaven sent

For you see that was this morning
And now I'm all alone
He's back at his mums
Now I don't want to go home

But to see his smile
Feel his warm hand
As he hugged me tight
My beautiful little man

He knows he's loved
Loved by both of us
The best of both worlds
We both make a fuss

So goodnight my son
You can't hear me tonight
But you are in my heart
I love you with all my might

He actually took a rabbit to bed but i couldn't get it work so used the word Ted instead, hope you don't mind Will
