Selfish Lover

by Lesslovedthanloathed   Aug 2, 2008

You know how it is,
Selfish lovers don't know how to let go.
Love was just a game to you,
But I was kind of serious you know?
For you I was just a day,
A single fleeting thought
But for me a thousand years
have passed since then.

You told me things I wanted to hear
You whispered sweet words into my ear
But still I wish for that love
Because after all I'm a selfish lover
You're still in my heart
Why won't you release me
Even though I know you've moved on
I still hope for the days when
I was your selfish lover

I bet you don't even remember my name
But still I wish to be your selfish lover
Because I want you all to myself
Even now when we've grown so far apart.
I still dream of you beside me
Because I'm a selfish kind of lover
But your love is the only one I want.

This poem had a lot of emotion to it... and I love that in poetry. Just try to be more poetic, I felt this poem was too casual. But that doesn't stop it from being amazing. I loved the read! The flow and word usage were very good in this one... 5/5

SL i'm not really sure if I like this poem but it certainly gets your message across. You are still young and you have so much in front of you, time is a great healer and there are many males waiting out there who need someone like you who knows how to express themselves. Yet men are wary of clingy women, they get claustrophobic, just be natural and you will find life will follow you flow. Smile and be happy take care from a friend and an old man Ray. But don' sto[ using your feeling in your poems, 4/5
