A thousand broken words

by StandStill   Aug 3, 2008

Muggy sky and twinkle stars
reflected off this dirty pool.
They shine so bright; so fake, it's sweet...
you be the pawn, I'll be the fool.

A thousand broken words got screamed,
falling like raindrops on this gravel drive.
Stinking, rotting, evaporated, gone.
They destroy others while they thrive.

All the shattered mirror eyes
reflect and refract like disco queens.
Cheap perfume and expensive rooms;
open your eyes, you'll see what I mean.

And I hate to be cliche,
but, babe, it hurts so bad.
The telephone rings with more words to sing..
but the day is done and the fun's been had.
