was that wonderful date.
We had met before a total times of two,
but on that day cupid shot his arrow
and my heart it went through.
As you walked towards me
you were glowing like a beam of light,
wearing your shirt of black and capri's of white.
Just like the sun shining from behind clouds of gray
you instantly brightened up my day.
It was as if you were sent
from the heavens above
to the Lord I spoke "I am not ready for love".
My heart had been used, abused and left to despair
to the Lord I spoke again
"she is so HOT this just ain't fair".
As the DJ played the first slow song I knew with you
I didn't stand a chance
I had to go for broke and ask you to dance.
As we danced I looked into your
eyes of brown and shades of green,
it was not a pretty scene
I could see that you too had been hurt in the past
forever I wish this dance would last.
You possess a special quality
what it is I can not say
but it makes me think about you day after day.
At BamaJam when you looked at me and said
"I'm sorry but he has my heart" it felt like my world
was gonna end.
All I could do was look at you and say "no need to be sorry
I just wanna be your friend"
It was a lie that I just had to tell
because of you
I feel like I have been resurrected
from hell.
You truly amaze me how
you handle the cards of life
that you have been dealt.
This something I had to write to
express how I felt.
When you are ready all I ask for is one chance
to prove to you there is such
a thing as true romance.
You are like a ray of sunshine
sent from the Lord above in this life of mine.
