Under the Moon

Under the Moon
It was the dark of night,
you were dressed in dark blue and white,
everything felt so right.
It was great to see you, a long time it had been,
when I saw you I couldn't help but grin.
It was the 4th of July,
and you chose to come see me, I don't know why.
I am glad you did, because in you own special way,
You made me have the best ever Independence Day.
You looked so beautiful standing there under the moon,
why did this night have to end so soon.
I know your heart is broken and it needs time to mend,
and I don't have a problem being your friend.
I believe that is where a true relationship should start,
but believe me Sunshine, you have touched my heart.
Please be gentle and handle it with care,
do anything to hurt you I would never dare.
That smile of yours could move mountains and part the seas,
honestly when I think of it I get weak at the knee's.
You deserve to be treated like a lady,
some day I hope to have a chance, oh maybe.
I ask myself why do I feel the need to write poetry,
these are just feeling from deep within me.
Scare the hell out of me, yes you do,
but thoughts of not being your friend turns me blue.
There is nothing I can say or do to take away your pain,
but if you ever need to talk or vent just call on Shane.
Since we have become friends you have turned my world around,
my face now wears a smile where there use to be a frown.
You fill my days with warmth and happiness,
I hope writing this does not cause you any stress.
If we don't take chances, what kind of life would we live,
my heart is the only thing of value that I have to give.
It seems these words in my head are never gonna end,
but just talking to you lifts me up, like I am riding on the wind.
A fool I hope you do not make of me,
but only time will tell, for us to see.
