We're Not The Same Dear.

by Stephanie   Aug 8, 2008

I'm ashamed, i truly am. i haven't written a decent piece of poetry in about 2 months. i can't stand sitting here and staring at a blank screen, and only letting my fingers hover over the keys. :|

so this is an older piece that i wrote about 2 months ago. i'm still not satisfied with it; i feel it ends too abruptly. help is very much appreiciated. :)

[Inspired by the song, "The Ice Is Getting Thinner" by Death Cab for Cutie.]

````````````````````````````````````````````
My pale fingers are trembling with unspoken truths,
and my eyes dare to hold lies that are deeply uncouth.
My world is shifting, my breathing is becoming shallow,
[I can't do this - There's no guided path for me to follow.]
There's a permanent cigarette glued everywhere with me,
in case I lose control; You can't see what you used to see.
Nervous breakdown after nervous breakdown; Pathetic.
I'm a clothed frame of insanity, fumbling through music,
hoping to uncover an indecent world, to get out of this city.
Cause dear - we're not the same as we used to ever be.
And I can't handle it...
