Bewildered At Best

by She Is My Rain   Aug 15, 2008

Picture Perfect.
Yet so distorted.
Confused in every way.
Nothing more contorted.

You're just a dream.
A hopeful wish.
Everything you are.
An unpolished kiss.

Tainted so lovely.
Don't pretend.
You're something more
Then just a friend.

Bewildered at best.
By your actions.
I could never detest.
Such longing.

Yet you change.
As days go by.
And everything
Seems like a lie.

Is this your game?
To hurt the heart
That's willing to care?
A dying art.

You say your there.
That you could love
Such a child like me
Is it hard to believe?

I guess for me
This is enough.
I just have to
Hang in tough.

Innocence.
It's nothing now.
Such brilliance.
I do hereby vow.

The lock is broken.
The vision lost.
Such a perfect child.
With a heart in exile.
