Treading Water

by Melissa   Aug 20, 2008

When time squeezed with it's midnight hands
darling, it was as though you clasped your fingers
around my heart

and now I'm out here sinking
in the abstruse realm
of your palm,
an anomalous sea
deaf to all soundness

but I am in love with your ocean

so be not foreboding, my perpetual wave
for this cast away method
could easily drown me
