Crippled Wing

*Ofcourse this is a poem about me. About how depression got me and my first cut I didn't see as any thing major, but I soon found myself unable to quit, and I couldn't heal myself from my depression*

There once lived an angel
who flew high above the clouds
she never really fit into the crowds
but she didn't care
her free spirit would just fly trough the blissful air,
her young wings took her everywhere

but on one fateful day
the devil took aim
with an arrow of guilt and shame
shot her right through the heart
....she fell apart

unable to fly
she fell to the earth
when she hit the ground she let out a cry
screaming for help, but nobody could hear
at that moment on her cheek she felt her first tear
the fall broke her wing
and what's worst she no longer could feel her heart sing

this place called earth
was a scary place indeed
and when this angel caught her arm on a branch
for the first time she felt what it was like to bleed
red flowing down like a tear from your arm
at first she didn't see this as any alarm
but as months go by
still unable to fly
these strange red tears
was enough to fight her earthly fears
but the wounds kept her wing from healing
and she lost all of her feelings...

After a while in the heavens above
the angel's tell the story
of the little angel that was like a free dove
shot down by guilt and shame
the injuries she never overcame
now this once sweet little angel
became known as
Crippled Wing
