Thinking about you still today
About the time you went away
I wasn't enough to keep you around
You had a job in another town
You had to go to get on with your life
But for me it cut like a knife
You didn't look back heading for the door
But if you had, it would only hurt more
Said you had to go, I understand why
But at least you didn't say good-bye
As much as I wanted you to stay
If you did I'd just be in your way
