The Truth, Will Always Hurt.

by CourtneyyContageous   Sep 7, 2008

Is it because I'm not afraid to say
Exactly how I feel?
Or because I can't be yours?
Tell me, what's the deal?

One hit from your fist
And blood trickles down my face
Why can't you except this?
This time, you can't win my race

My mind's made up, and here we are
Your words hurt more than ever
Tell me babe, what's so hard?
I'm not coming back,never.

You can hit me, you can burn me
But I'm not coming back
You've broken my heart too many times
And courage is what you lack

You can't accept the truth
And inside it always burns
But I'm standing up to you
This time, you will learn

I'm stronger than I was back then
But I had some growing up to do
I'm happy inside, with who I am
But tell me babe, are you?

Hitting me won't make stronger
Or make you any more of a man
It won't give you courage
What don't you understand

You have to love yourself
Before you can ever love me
So turn around, ponder what's been said
And try to understand we can never be

You said you'd always love me
Then show me that you do
I'll do whatever it takes to help
But first you have to want to
