Don't Do It

by Cori   Sep 7, 2008

Do I still love you
Maybe it’s not true
My body is lying
Desperately trying
To find the one perfect for me.

I slowly go back to you
Never looking for something new
I just can't let you go
Why didn't you let me know
You can't be good for me.

My body feels this prison
And from the ashes you are risen
Just to make me fall in love again
And I always let you win
Why do you do this to me?

Because you were always there
But you would never stare
Something about my blue eyes
Burned you down deep inside
Who are you kidding?

I am on my way home
Away from your dome
Away from your trap
You thought I was such a sap
How could you?

But at least she'll be there
Please tell her to take care
I could care less about you
As long as you don't cause her to be blue
Don't do this to anyone else.

I know they say
"Once a cheater than always"
But I hope you aren't like that
And you’re not a brat
Please...treat her right

Do me this one last favor
Let her find someone she can savor
Without all the troubles
And no doubles
I wouldn't wish what you did to me even on the girl who stole you from me.

I think stanzas 5 and 7 are a little rough but i really like this poem.
the emotion is so strong and the structure is great
    my favorite parts were
    My body is lying
    Desperately trying
To find the one perfect for me.
    and the 4th stanza
    good job
    =)
