This Place We Call Home

by emmie   Sep 10, 2008

I see boys fighting on the subway
Girls yelling in the streets
His problems, her problems
Taken out on the next they meet

Man in the dark room,
he's lost his morals
Now, he's silently sitting,
drinking away his sorrows

Where's their humanity?
Where's our love?
What's wrong with you?
God's crying up above.

Lady with a baby,
She's with men till late
But they still can't eat
Not at this rate

Kid on the corner
Selling blow and green
You'd never even know it
That boy is seventeen!

What is a society?
Where does it belong?
Well, whatever it is,
It's defiantly wrong.

Where I see children crying
I can't walk in the street
Unless, I want to be afraid
of every person I meet.

It isn't right, this place
This place we call home
When everyone of us
can feel so utterly alone.
