Salt Water Dreams

I want to find my heart
an anchor,
a steel love
that cannot be stirred by sea

But it's tough finding Romeo
when she's been unattended
for oh so many weeks

All the fishes quit swimming
near her barb
and maybe I'm not charming enough
or I've fed them too many bad seeds

I'd like to think I'm worthy
of hooking another's adoration,
but lately it seems to only happen
in my briny dreams
