Someone saw her hurt

Somebody wake me I'm dreaming,
sis hides me under the bed,
and all I'm hearing is screaming.

Too young to understand whats going on,
poor mama beaten by someone so strong,
for so long,
its so wrong.

and this went on,
for too many years,
now 18 years old,
and it still brings tears.

yea i know,
it was so damn long ago,
but this shit is damaging,
y'all just don't know.

Scenes play back,
I don't even hit rewind,
then i think,
how can people be so blind?

i know some one saw her bruised,
some one saw her hurt,
why'd no one confront dad,
for treating mom like dirt?
