He looked at her
and saw the pain in her eyes
the pain she tried so hard to hide.
looking down she hid her face
if only those memories could be erased.

Telling him that she is fine
when in reality she is really dying.
Her soft lips
whisper the lies
telling him she is going to be alright
when really it is her life she ended that night.

Holding back from breaking into tears
saying she is fine
and will be better given time.
covering the scars
that rest on her arms
wearing long sleeve shirts
just so he couldn't see that she was really hurt.

I really do. looking at her with hollow eyes
not realizing the truth of her demise,
lying and cheating saying he is faithful
when all he really is, is self centered and ungrateful.
