Love

My hope gone
All thats left is a bitter shell
Of a person torn apart by love
Love is only an invitation for pain
Why do we welcome the pain so warmly?
Like its a long lost relative we haven't seen in ages
Eager to touch and hold.
Love is the downfall of mankind
It makes us weak and vulnerable
It taints our minds
Our concept of love these days is so distraught.
We know not what true love is.
What it feels like,
To have to someone that needs you the same way you need them.
There's too much hate and violence
Love is supposed to prevail over all
But i have yet to see that
