November Rain

by Daisy if you do   Oct 2, 2008

Cedar scented memories
under lock and key
keeping them there safely
so no one else can see
finger paint mementos
along with a pre-k test
now are shrouded safely
placed in a wooden chest

crayon marks upon the wall
when paper was too bland
masterpieces drawn
though from a child's hand
disguised behind new paint
in someone else's home
canvas to another child
whose imagination roams

nothing in this precious box
can bring me peace of mind
only there as fragments
of a past that's left behind
so, fall November rain
disguise these solemn tears
bury these remains
with his youthful years

The reason that i even chose to read this poem- to be honest November Rain by G'n'R is one of my ultime favourite songs and that caught my eye.

I don't really no what to say apart from that was a touching poem- and you honoured it with the way in which it was wrote.. it was outstandingly good poetry.

Its amazing you no what moms really do keep to remind them off your childhood, i no my moms ggota box with little paintings i done with my fingers. the ending off the first stanza really brings home emotions, the innocence of childhood being locked up in a box its almost tearjerking.

    crayon marks upon the wall

    disguised behind new paint

    - this is really my favorite stanza- it reminds me off my little sister, you wrote this so delicately- showing the delicate nature of a child and life. teh words flow amazingly, and just the actually style of the poem is fabulous and well written.

    so, fall November rain
    disguise these solemn tears
    bury these remains
    with his youthful years
    - this small part will be something that will stick in my mind for a very long time and thats not an exageration. the pain of this and the imagery yo uuse throughout well it would undermine your abilities if i said it was good. firstly, all your innocent child things are locked away and then technically you are too, its a very sad and emotional thing to think about.

Normally i would go on about punctuation at the end of lines and capital letters, but a poem written like this well it wouldn't add nothing to it.

I really and truly enjoyed reading this, but when you look past the poetic techniques i'm sorry you lost the person that inspired this poem.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Well thought out and cleverly constructed. Deep and meaningful and it pulls at the heart strings. Rhythm , flow impeccable! What a well deserving win. It could break the strongest heart. Very well done!
