Thanks for Not Leaving

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Oct 5, 2008

I tell you to leave me, you say you won't go.
I try and try again, though in the end I know.
You'll never leave me be, you'll always be there,
to show me you love me, and how you care.

I wanted to hurt you, so you'd go away,
but despite the pain you decided to stay.
I tried to reject you, I denied you so much,
but I can't shake your words or your touch.

So I've taken you in, accepted you being here.
Now I don't want you away, I want you near.
Never say you'll leave me, always be my friend.
I do feel much more than that, I can't pretend.

I've accepted what we have, I can't say it's bad.
Though it's rather unexpected, I'm kind of glad.
You don't just accept me, you want me to excel;
to be a better me, not living in self created hell.

So to you my good friend, I thank you again.
I won't let myself lose when I can surely win.
With your help I'll be better, you will be too.
I know how you feel, and you know I love you.
