Soul Association

by Jemma   Oct 8, 2008

I wonder if our heartstrings are tied, tugging across countries with the same battlefields erupting in our souls. And yet we seem so distanced, but the fires remain
Would you care to extinguish the flames or shall we let them burn?
The flicker and fly within the air

And I wonder do you hear its song or is it sung only for me
The only pitiful observer in the downfall of our nature
Oh how it sets in
Like concrete in the veins
So full and so empty
Nothing but stone.
It's all I have, for without that I am nothing
Only a mere vessel that life once dwelt in
Wonder why with so much stone I feel so alone
It's set in deep, encasing my strengthened bone

But I wonder as I read words that came from another's world-wearied hand
Are we tied in our souls, little strands of tarnished silver darting through the air current
Singing with music as it rides the waves

Does it make my pain more distinguished when I know you've felt the same?
The same devoid emotion that no longer needs a name
It's just the imagination of an isolated mind

I hear you in the leaves, whispers just for me
I wonder do you hear me
As I sit singing lullabies to trees
Hoping you might see
Tears alighting in my eyes as I see you looking so desolate in the dark
And I wish the light of my summer may fill your abandoned heart

The flames tickle before they burn
But the cold is more abrupt
I hope you feel the dance before the song is stopped
