Tattoos... Never letting go

by Shellaine shelli   Oct 11, 2008

A tattoo that brings back memories
of the ones once loved
now lost to life,
the ones once there
now gone in our despair.

Around the butterflies
on my wrist and above
surrounded by 4 music notes,
a symbol of love.

You were here the one day and gone
the next, my darling Brett
may your soul be at rest.
I loved you so
and oh how it hurt to let you go.

A drug overdose was the cause of your death,
the substances you took
stole your very last breath.
you were always the one who was there
you were the one who could understand
now i have tormented dreams
and you are no longer here.

Oh my dear and darling Brett,
not being there for you has become
my biggest regret.
my darling brother oh how I love you so,
my tattoos dedicated to you are
a sign of how I'm never letting go...

You have an amazing talent. I'm sure your brother was very proud of you. This poem was beautiful, you connected so well and got your message across, I lost myself in this poem. It's like I could see and feel everything you went through. Amazing job hunni. Hang in there, it will get easier.
