alone in the world.
Left for the heavens above,
holding all my love.
With each drink
you swallowed all your tears,
wiped away your fears.
The lonely nights,
mamas pointless fights.
I understand the pain,
the desire to quit the game.
The bottle tips
to your lips.
Each thought of sorrow,
can be gone by tomorrow.
In the hospital bed,
you said
"I want to go home,
just one last time."
That should of been our angel sent sign.
Alone again in that hospital bed,
heart beating but soul dead.
You took your last breath,
and you were gone...
I will always long
to see you again.
So, till that day,
when my tears end
and broken heart mends
the bottle tilts.

My father died May 16, 2008 from liver failure. He is greatly missed. Please comment.
