I Bear My Teeth

I bear my teeth
At the pain inside

I bear my teeth
At the world around me

I bear my teeth
At the current outlook of my life

I bear my teeth
At myself

The thought of being alone
When all I’ve ever wanted was to love and be loved

Destroys me
Inside and out

I bear my teeth
At those who find love so easily

I’m a pack animal
Through and through

But I have been banished to wander alone
Without a friend to comfort me

I wonder around
Hiding my teeth

Helping those
Who seem in need

I bear my teeth
At those who just wanted to use me as a pillow

A pillow to cushion their fall
And then take off leaving me on the ground

I bear my teeth
To control myself

I bear my teeth
To hold myself back
