Post Cards in the Static

by StandStill   Oct 17, 2008

Static from the radio,
it's all just lights and sounds.
The cold October air is here,
wind matches heartbeat's pound.

Everything is temporary,
when the world is sounds and lights.
Static in this nothingness,
nowhere's here tonight.

October leaves are everywhere,
they're filling up our veins
with lies and hopes and dreams and loves
and everything profain.

It's not the emptiness we fear,
it's just the awful nothingness
that comes with the void, the static, the noise,
and makes us feel like something less.

Scream so loud this awful night,
emotions disappear.
Break my heart with just one word..
Post cards to scream "Wish you were here".
