A bad day

Darkness covers my world like a blanket of doom
Clouds, oppressing force closing in on me
Lightning slashes through me like the sword of Damocles
Thunderous silence booming through my mind
Unanswered questions, like mountains lay before me
My love is gone, like the sun smitten from the sky
The empty plains of my soul lay bare for all to see
But yet like a single beam of light shining through
There remains a glimmer of hope within me
You see my love my heart is not a lump of rock
Although it's broken it is not shattered beyond repair
Tomorrow awaits a new day full of the wonders
Of discovery of new found joys
Once the storm has past and the rains are done
A bright new sun will shine once more
So now I eagerly look to tomorrow
Today, has not been a good day
