Sun Kisses

by Sylvia   Oct 23, 2008

I stepped outside on a warm spring day
and raised my face toward the sky.
Much to my surprise, with rays ablaze,
the sun kissed me like a lover.

Rays embracing me with open arms,
so warm and tender, gentle to the touch.
Caressing ever so softly, protecting me from harm,
and yet holding my heart at bay.

Clouds passed in front of the sun,
and no longer did I feel its kisses.
Coolness enveloped me, darkness had begun.
My lover was gone, and I was once again alone.

Another beautiful poem , you create a real feeling of warmth in the beginning of this poem and end it off with a sense of loss and longing, well done
